About this site and how we check facts
Personal Trainer Exams is an independent study resource for US personal trainer certification exams. No certifier runs, sponsors or reviews it, and none pays to appear here.
01
Who we are
A small independent team that writes exam-prep material. We are not a certifier, we don't sell a certification, and we run no affiliate offers for courses.
You won't find a panel of named experts on this site. Instead, every claim is checkable: each exam fact has a source link and the date we last checked it, so you can verify it against the certifier yourself.
02
How we check facts
- Every exam fact comes from the certifier's own candidate handbook, content outline, fee page or FAQ, never from another prep site.
- Each fact is stored once and every page reads it from there, so a fee change is corrected on every page at the same time.
- Tables link a source on each row and show the date we checked it. When a certifier publishes a new handbook, we re-check every fact taken from the old one.
- Where one brand sells two different exams (the ACE Certificate and the ACE CPT; the ISSA course exam and NCCPT-CPT), each fact says which exam it is about.
- Course package prices appear only with the month we saw them, because promotions change them. Pass rates appear only where the certifier publishes them, with the year. “Insider” cut scores don't appear at all.
03
How we make the practice questions
- Questions are written to each exam's published blueprint and tagged with the domain they test.
- The answer key of every question is checked, and a reviewer who didn't write the question goes through it and every explanation.
- Every option gets its own explanation, so a wrong pick still teaches you something.
- Our questions have up to five options. NSCA-CPT uses 3 and NASM-CPT 4, so treat ours as practice, not as a copy of the exam format.
- No question is a real exam item, and we don't publish items recalled by candidates.

Found an error?
Tell us through the contact page: the page, the number, and where the certifier says otherwise. Fact fixes go first, and the checked date in the table caption moves when we make one.
